Betting Rounds
First Betting Round
It is the pre-flop round. The first round begins after all
players receive their initial cards and start the player at
the left of the big blind. He has three options:
* Cover the blind (or simply to call, as used in English and
in online poker)
* Increase the bet (raise)
* Give (fold)
Cover the blind means pay the big blind. To stay in the game,
players are forced to put the same amount of money on the
table or they must leave. If no one has raised, then those who
want to stay on the table to put the big blind.
By the rules of poker, all players can increase the bet when
it's your turn. Increasing the bet, or raise, that cover the
value of the blind and put even more money (or chips) on the
table.
The following players must then give up the hand or cover the
raise. Or they can apply a reraise, that is, a reprise. They
can raise the ante over the previous raise.
The action goes back to running the table the small blind,
that to continue the game must pay the difference between the
value to complete the big blind (or cover any increase that
has happened). If he wishes, he can increase the bet.
The last to act pre-flop in the round is the big blind, which
does not need to put more money if nobody has raised. He
simply asks table (check) - it means giving up your right to
make a bet - and the game goes to the opening of the flop. Of
course, the big blind also have the option to raise the stakes
if you want.
